After having yet another bout fall through, Ian McCall will get his wish, as he has been booked to face Neil Seery at UFC Fight Night 99 in Belfast, Ireland, on Nov. 19.
Promotion officials announced the matchup on Tuesday. McCall was supposed to compete for the first time in more than a year and a half at UFC 203, but opponent Ray Borg was a last-minute withdrawal due to illness. “Uncle Creepy” suggested Seery as an potential future foe on social media, and apparently UFC brass took notice.
McCall last fought at UFC 183 in January 2015, when he dropped a unanimous decision to John Lineker. He was also supposed to lock horns with Justin Scoggins at UFC 201 on July 30, but Scoggins was unable to make weight and McCall was unwilling to fight at a catch-weight.
Seery, 37, is 3-3 in his six Octagon appearances. The Dublin native last appeared at UFC Fight Night “Overeem vs. Arlovski,” where he lost a unanimous decision to former title challenger Kyoji Horiguchi.
UFC Fight Night takes place at SSE Arena and is headlined by a welterweight showdown between Dong Hyun Kim and Gunnar Nelson. The card will stream in its entirety on UFC Fight Pass.
