A flyweight scrap pitting Vanessa Porto against Agnieszka Niedzwiedz will serve as the main event for Invicta Fighting Championships 23.
The all-female promotion confirmed the headliner and five other bouts for the May 20 card: Roxanne Modafferi vs. Sarah D’Alelio at flyweight; Herica Tiburcio vs. Tessa Simpson at atomweight; Elizabeth Phillips vs. Kelly Faszholz at bantamweight; Andrea Lee vs. Liz Tracy at flyweight and Tiffany Van Soest vs. Christine Ferea at strawweight.
Invicta FC 23 takes place at the Scottish Rite Temple in Kansas City, Mo., and the card will stream in its entirety on UFC Fight Pass.
Porto, 33, is coming off a five-round unanimous decision defeat to Jennifer Maia in a 125-pound title bout at Invicta FC 16 in March 2016. It was the second loss in a championship fight for the Sao Paulo native, as she also dropped at five-round verdict to Barb Honchak at Invicta FC 5. Porto owns an 18-7 career mark, with 10 triumphs by submission and three via KO/TKO.
Niedzwiedz, meanwhile, is unbeaten in nine professional outings, including a unanimous decision victory over Christine Stanley in her lone Invicta FC appearance last July. The 22 year-old Poland native has also competed for Cage Warriors Fighting Championship over the course of tenure that began in 2012. “Kuma” has finished all but two of her wins inside the distance.
