Ronda Rousey’s venture into Hollywood will continue -- this time in the realm of cable television.
According to a report from Deadline.com, the former UFC women’s bantamweight champion has signed a three-picture movie deal with Lifetime Network “to bring stories that reflect her passions about empowerment to the screen.” Along with Rousey, the network announced that it will be working on projects with tennis star Serena Williams and musician Janet Jackson.
While Rousey will have a role in developing and producing content, it is currently unclear if she will appear in any of the three movies. “Rowdy” has been on hiatus from the Octagon to focus on her film career, which includes starring roles in ”Mile 22” with Mark Wahlberg as well as a remake of ”Roadhouse.” However, production has yet to begin for either film.
Rousey hasn’t competed since losing the 135-pound belt in a knockout loss to Holly Holm at UFC 193 last November. UFC President Dana White has said that he expects the Olympic judoka to return to action by the end of 2016.
