It didn’t take long for Yushin Okami to find a new home.
Okami was released by the UFC approximately two weeks ago. “Thunder” is expected to make his first WSOF appearance sometime in early 2014, according to MMAFighting.com.
Okami last fought on Sept. 4, when he was knocked out by former Strikeforce titlist Ronaldo Souza at UFC Fight Night 28. Okami joined the UFC in 2006 and posted a 13-5 record with the Las Vegas-based organization, notching notable triumphs over the likes of Nate Marquardt, Evan Tanner, Mark Munoz, Hector Lombard and Alan Belcher (twice). He challenged for the 185-pound title at UFC 134, falling to Anderson Silva via second-round TKO.
