After being released by the Ultimate Fighting Championship in September, Francis Carmont has signed with Bellator MMA.
The promotion has also inked a deal with Chinzo Machida of Resurrection Fighting Alliance.
Bellator MMA officials confirmed the news with Sherdog.com on Friday. Both fighters will make their promotional debuts in 2015, though length and financial terms of the deals were not disclosed.
The 32-year-old Carmont owns notable triumphs over Tom Lawlor, Lorenz Larkin and Costas Philippou, among others. He is 22-10 as a professional with 16 of those wins coming by way of knockout, technical knockout or submission. “Limitless” was released from the UFC following a three-fight skid; after being bested on points by Ronaldo Souza and C.B. Dollaway, he was finished via TKO for the first time in his career against Thales Leites.
Machida, the elder brother of former UFC light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida, has only fought five times in his career, but is currently riding a two-fight winning streak. The 37-year-old impressively finished Brian Wood via flying knee at RFA 11, before defeating Dmitry Gerasimov via unanimous decision at RFA 15.
