A lightweight pairing pitting Francisco Trinaldo against Akbarh Arreola has been added to UFC Fight Night “Faber vs. Assuncao.”
Ultimate Fighting Championship officials announced the matchup on Tuesday. The card takes place at Maracanazinho Gymnasium in Rio de Janeiro and is headlined by a bantamweight showdown featuring Urijah Faber against Raphael Assuncao and airs on Fox Sports 1.
Trinaldo, 36, has been fighting under the UFC banner since 2012, amassing a record of 5-3. Most recently, “Massaranduba” earned a unanimous decision over Leandro Silva at UFC Fight Night “Bigfoot vs. Arlovski 2.”
Arreola, 32, has gone 1-1 since joining the UFC after competing almost exclusively in Mexico. A 32-fight veteran, “El Caballero” was last inside the Octagon against Yves Edwards at UFC Fight Night “Edgar vs. Swanson,” where he picked up the 17th submission victory of his career.
