Frankie Perez will square off against Chris Wade in a lightweight bout at UFC on Fox 25.
Newsday first reported the pairing. UFC on Fox 25 takes place at Nassau Coliseum in Long Island, N.Y., on July 22 and also includes a light heavyweight showdown pitting Gian Villante against Patrick Cummins. A headliner for the card has not been announced. Perez and Wade initially fought at Ring of Combat 48 in May 2014, with Wade earning a split-decision triumph.
Perez announced his retirement after stopping Sam Stout in 54 seconds at UFC Fight Night 74 in August 2015 but returned to the Octagon this past December, when he dropped a unanimous decision to Marc Diakiese. Perez is 10-3 as a professional overall, with seven victories coming by knockout, technical knockout or submission.
Wade, meanwhile, has lost back-to-back fights after winning his first four Octagon appearances. Most recently, the 29-year-old Long Island native suffered a unanimous decision defeat to Islam Makhachev at UFC Fight Night 94 this past September. Wade owns an 11-3 career mark, including seven wins via decision.
