Frankie Perez will end his short-lived retirement when he faces Marc Diakiese at UFC Fight Night 102 in Albany, N.Y., on Dec. 9.

The Las Vegas-based promotion recently confirmed the lightweight pairing. UFC Fight Night takes place at the Times Union Center and is headlined by a heavyweight tilt between Derrick Lewis and Shamil Abdurakhimov.

Perez surprisingly called it a career following a 54-second stoppage of Sam Stout at UFC Fight Night “Holloway vs. Oliveira” on Aug. 23, 2015. The 27-year-old New Jersey native has compiled a 10-2 mark over the course of a tenure spent primarily in the Ring of Combat promotion.

Diakiese, meanwhile, improved his record to 10-0 by stopping Lukasz Sajewski via second-round TKO at UFC 204 on Oct. 8. The 23-year-old known as “Bonecrusher” has finished five of his wins by KO/TKO and one via submission.
