The featherweight rematch was announced during the Bellator 159 broadcast on Friday night. Bellator 160 takes place at the Honda Center in Anaheim on Aug. 26 and is headlined by a lightweight No. 1 contender bout between Benson Henderson and Patricio Freire. The evening’s main card airs on Spike TV at 10 p.m. ET/9 p.m. CT.
Karakhanyan defeated Jenkins via first-round guillotine choke in their initial encounter at Bellator 132. Since then, the Milennia MMA native has suffered back-to-back decision losses to Pat Curran and Daniel Weichel.
Jenkins, meanwhile, has won three straight bouts since that defeat. Most recently, “The Highlight Kid” earned a unanimous verdict over Goiti Yamauchi at Bellator 151. Jenkins is 8-2 under the Bellator banner overall.
