Gilbert Burns vs. Olivier Aubin-Mercier Boooked for UFC on Fox 28 in Orlando

Gilbert Burns and Olivier Aubin-Mercier will meet in a lightweight duel at UFC on Fox 28.

The Las Vegas-based promotion announced the pairing on Thursday. UFC on Fox 28 takes place at the Amway Center in Orlando on Feb. 24 and airs on the Fox Network. A headliner for the card has not been revealed.

Burns has compiled a 5-2 mark in the Octagon, including a second-round knockout of Jason Saggo in his most recent outing at UFC Fight Night 116 on Sept. 16. The 31-year-old Brazilian is 12-2 as a professional, with 11 triumphs coming inside the distance.

Mercier enters the matchup on a three-fight winning streak after besting Tony Martin, Drew Dober and Thibault Gouti in succession. “The Quebec Kid” has won six of his last seven promotional appearances, with four of those victories coming via submission.
