Michel Richard Cunha dos Prazeres will compete opposite Mairbek Taisumov at UFC Fight Night 39.

Ultimate Fighting Championship officials recently announced that Gleison Tibau has withdrawn from his planned clash with Taisumov, though a reason for the change was not given. UFC Fight Night 39 takes place March 23 from Nelio Dias Gymnasium in Natal, Brazil, and is headlined by a light heavyweight rematch pitting Dan Henderson against Mauricio Rua.

Prazeres, 30, suffered the first loss of his pro career last May in his Octagon debut, when Paulo Thiago outpointed him at UFC on FX 8. “Trator” rebounded from the defeat in his most recent outing, however, scoring a split decision win over Jesse Ronson this past September at UFC 165.

Taisumov, 25, rides a four-fight winning streak into his second UFC appearance. “Beckan” made his promotional foray on Jan. 4, escaping an early submission scare to outpoint Tae Hyun Bang at UFC Fight Night 34 and earn his first decision victory in 25 pro bouts.
