Glover Teixeira has been forced to pull of the UFC Fight Night Sao Paulo headliner against Jimi Manuwa due to a shoulder injury.

Multiple outlets confirmed the news on Tuesday following an initial report from ESPN. The UFC is current seeking a replacement opponent for Manuwa. Teixeira could need surgery, according to the report, but a final decision on how to treat the ailment has not been made. The promotion has not officially announced Teixeira’s withdrawal.

UFC Fight Night 137 takes place at Ibirapuera Gymnasium in Sao Paulo, Brazil, on Sept. 22 and will see Antonio Rogerio Nogueira return to take on Sam Alvey in another featured bout. The card will air on Fox Sports 1 following early prelims on UFC Fight Pass.

Teixeira was going to make a quick turnaround following a lopsided decision loss to Corey Anderson at UFC Fight Night 134 in Hamburg, Germany, on July 22. The 38-year-old Brazilian has lost three of his last five Octagon appearances.

Manuwa is looking to rebound from a two-fight skid. After suffering a 42-second knockout loss to Volkan Oezdemir at UFC 214, “Poster Boy” dropped a decision against Jan Blachowicz in his most recent outing at UFC Fight Night 127 on March 17.
