A light heavyweight duel between Glover Teixeira and Patrick Cummins will serve as the co-headliner when the UFC travels to Sao Paulo on Nov. 7.
The Las Vegas-based promotion on Tuesday announced that bout along with several other matchups for the UFC Fight Night event. Additionally, Fabio Maldonado will square off with Tom Lawlor at light heavyweight; Johnny Case will meet Yan Cabral at 155 pounds; Gilbert Burns will face Rashid Magomedov at lightweight; and Gleison Tibau will square off against Abel Trujillo in another lightweight scrap.
A welterweight showdown pitting Viscardi Andrade against Gasan Umalatov and “The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil 4” bantamweight finale between Bruno Rodrigues and Matheus Nicolau Pereira are also set for the card.
After back-to-back losses to Phil Davis and Jon Jones, Teixeira returned to the win column on Aug. 8, as he submitted Ovince St. Preux in the third round of their headlining bout at UFC Fight Night in Nashville. The Brazilian owns other notable victories over Ryan Bader, James Te Huna, Quinton Jackson and Maldonado, to name a few.
Cummins, meanwhile, has won four of five in the Octagon since falling to Daniel Cormier in his short-notice debut at UFC 170. Most recently, the former NCAA All-American wrestler at Penn State University scored a third-round technical knockout victory over Rafael Cavalcante at UFC 190.
The UFC Fight Night event takes place at Ibirapuera Gymnasium and is headlined by a third clash between Dan Henderson and Vitor Belfort.
