Golovkin vs. Monroe Weigh-in Results: Both Headliners Make Middleweight Limit

Saturday night’s main event on HBO will go off as planned, as both WBA middleweight champ Gennady Golovkin and challenger Willie Monroe Jr. made weight without a hitch on Friday.
The unbeaten Golovkin (32-0, 29 KOs) tipped the scales at 159 pounds while Monroe (19-1, 6 KOs) checked in at 160 pounds.
Not everything was as smooth for the WBC flyweight world championship co-feature, though. While champion Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez (42-0, 36 KOs) breezed in one pound under the 112-pound weight limit, challenger Edgar Sosa clocked in at 112.2 pounds. Sosa (51-8, 30 KOs) was given two hours to shed the extra few ounces in order to make the fight official.
