UFC bantamweight Guido Cannetti has been provisionally suspended by USADA after being notified of a potential anti-doping violation.

The Las Vegas-based promotion announced the news in a statement on Saturday. The possible failed drug test stems from an out-of-competition sample collected on Oct. 5. As a result of the suspension, Cannetti has been removed from a scheduled clash with Marco Beltran at UFC Fight Night 98 in Mexico City on Nov. 5.

According to the statement, “the UFC is currently exploring whether a replacement to fight Beltran can be arranged.” Cannetti, meanwhile, is entitled to a full legal review process before receiving any punishment.

A native of Buenos Aires, the 36-year-old Cannetti last appeared at UFC 190, where he earned a unanimous verdict against Hugo Viana. “Ninja” owns a 7-2 career mark that includes a second-round submission loss to Enrique Briones in his Octagon debut.
