Two of Bellator's finest females will likely once again square off, as a rematch between Zoila Gurgel and Jessica Aguilar is in the works for a to-be-named event in October.

Sherdog.com confirmed the planned contest with a source close to the situation on Wednesday following an initial report from MMARising.com. Bout agreements have not yet been signed.

While Gurgel and Aguilar first met in the semifinals of Bellator's 115-pound tournament last September, the pair will likely lock horns at a larger catch-weight this time around. As such, the fight will be a three-round affair, and Gurgel's title will not be on the line. In their first outing, Gurgel walked away with a hotly-contested split decision win to advance to the Season 3 tournament finals.

Gurgel has not defended her belt since winning the title last October by outpointing Megumi Fujii in a another contentious split decision at Bellator 34. The once-beaten tae kwon do stylist has yet to taste defeat in Bellator competition, holding a perfect 5-0 record in the circular cage.

Gurgel most recently earned a unanimous nod over Karina Hallinan in a 125-pound catch-weight affair at Bellator 35 in March.

Aguilar has won six of her last seven contests. The American Top Team export has competed twice since losing to Gurgel in the Bellator semifinals, winning both contests.

Following an armbar submission victory over Elsie Henri this past November, “Jag” returned to the Bellator cage on June 25, notching a split decision win over Carla Esparza at Bellator 46.
