HCF Tabs Canadian Debut for ‘Minotoro’
Hardcore Championship Fighting on Tuesday released the full lineup
for its Feb. 1 bill at the Stampede Corral in Calgary, which
features the Canadian debut of Antonio Rogerio
Nogueira (Pictures).
Nogueira (12-3-1) will duel with 33-year-old Bodog Fight and TKO veteran Todd Gouwenberg (Pictures) (7-2-0) of Langley, British Columbia.
The 31-year-old "Minotoro" last saw action in a stunning knockout loss at the hands of recent UFC signee Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou (Pictures) back in Feb. at PRIDE 33.
Gouwenberg, who represents Revolution Fight Team, will enter the contest with four straight victories. The bout is expected to be held at 205 pounds.
In the co-main event, Armenian Gegard Mousasi (Pictures) (18-2-1) will take on "Cyborg" Evangelista Santos (Pictures) (15-10-0).
Mousasi, 22, will aim for his sixth straight victory while Santos, 30, of the famed Chute Boxe academy in Brazil, will step in the cage for the first time since suffering a decision loss to James Zikic (Pictures) in April at Cage Rage 21.
