Hawaii Native Kailin Curran Added to UFC Women’s Strawweight Division
The UFC women's strawweight division officially grew to five on
Tuesday with the news that Kailin
Curran had signed with the Las Vegas-based promotion.
Curran announced the news on her Twitter account, and a profile was quickly created on the UFC.com. Curran joins a group of fighters that currently include: Joanna Jedrzejczyk, Tina Lahdemaki, Juliana de Lima Carneiro and Claudia Gadelha.
"It's official next stop UFC for me," Curran wrote. "Mahalo for all
the support."
The 23-year-old Ewa Beach, Hawaii, native becomes the first-ever female from the state to join the Zuffa ranks.
Her three pro fights -- all unanimous decision wins -- were held at University of Guam Fieldhouse in Mangilao, Guam under the Pacific Xtreme Combat promotion banner. Curran currently trains at Reign MMA in Lake Forest, Calif.
