Antonio Silva will attempt to rebound from back-to-back knockout losses when he meets Soa Palelei at UFC 190.
Promotion officials announced the heavyweight pairing on Saturday. UFC 190 takes place at HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro on Aug. 1 and features a women’s bantamweight title showdown between Ronda Rousey and Bethe Correia.
Silva is winless in his last four outings, including a pair of first-round KO defeats against Andrei Arlovski and Frank Mir in his last two Octagon appearances. The 35-year-old known as “Bigfoot” last tasted victory in February 2013, when he stopped Alistair Overeem in the third round at UFC 156.
Palelei, meanwhile, is 4-1 during his tenure with the Las Vegas-based promotion, with all of his triumphs coming by way of knockout or technical knockout. Most recently, “The Hulk” stopped Walt Harris in the second round at UFC Fight Night on Nov. 7.
