Dave Herman and Shane del Rosario will collide in a heavyweight duel at UFC 162, promotion officials announced Thursday.

UFC 162 takes place July 6 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and is headlined by an anticipated middleweight title showdown pitting longtime champion Anderson Silva against undefeated challenger Chris Weidman. The event will also showcase a trio of pivotal featherweight confrontations, as Chan Sung Jung, Frankie Edgar and Cub Swanson square off with Ricardo Lamas, Charles Oliveira and Dennis Siver, respectively.

Herman returns to the Octagon after serving a six-month suspension handed down by the UFC in the wake of his second positive test for marijuana metabolites. The heavyweight was also required to complete a rehabilitation program, after which he passed a drug test. Herman rode three straight defeats into his suspension, as the 28-year-old was knocked out by Stefan Struve and Roy Nelson before succumbing to an Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira armbar this past October at UFC 153.

Del Rosario, meanwhile, posted back-to-back defeats to kick off his UFC career, suffering second-round knockouts at the hands of Stipe Miocic and Pat Barry last year. The setbacks spoiled the Californian’s previously unblemished record, which included victories under the EliteXC, M-1 Global and Strikeforce banners.
