Cheick Kongo will replace an injured
Heath Herring to take on
Cain Velasquez at UFC 99 on June 13 in Germany, the UFC announced Wednesday.
Kongo has won three straight in the Octagon. Most recently he stopped
Antoni Hardonk in the second round at UFC 97 in April. At 14-4-1 overall, he is expected to be Velasquez’s toughest matchup thus far.
Velasquez is 5-0 overall and 3-0 in the UFC. A member of the American Kickboxing Academy, he is considered one of the top heavyweight prospects in MMA.
