Hominick-Taurosevicius, Njokuani-Corbbrey Added to WEC 43

Another fight scheduled for Affliction’s recently cancelled card has made its way to a Zuffa promotion. Mark Hominick and Deividas Taurosevicius are just about set to square off at WEC 43 in Youngstown, Ohio.

According to a source with knowledge of the situation, the bout has been verbally agreed to and bout agreements have been sent to the fighters.

Hominick (16-8), who was confirmed to be back in the fold by Dana White during Friday’s UFC conference call, will be looking for his first win in the WEC after dropping both of his previous fights. He will be returning to action after a 13-month layoff. His last fight was a submission victory over Savant Young in July 2008.

Taurosevicius (10-3) will be making his WEC debut. The former IFL lightweight contender is also returning from a long layoff. He last competed in May 2008, when he lost a decision to IFL champion Ryan Schultz.

The talented Lithuanian has racked up all but two of his victories by submission.

Another bout scheduled for the Buckeye State debut of WEC is a lightweight scrap between Anthony Njokuani and Muhsin Corbbrey.

Njokuani (10-2) has split a pair of WEC bouts, dropping one to Benson Henderson before stopping tough veteran Bart Palaszewski last time out. His only previous loss came at the hands of Henderson’s next opponent, Donald Cerrone.

Corbbrey (7-3) is making his WEC debut after a brief run in EliteXC. He has sandwiched three victories between a pair of tough losses since returning to action after a nearly five-year layoff. Those losses came at the hands of UFC veteran Jim Miller and Strikeforce contender Nick Diaz.
