Horwich, Rosholt Make Weight for Shark Fights 17 Headliner

Jake Rosholt will officially have his shot at revenge on Friday night, as he and fellow headliner Matt Horwich both hit their marks Thursday at the weigh-ins for Shark Fights 17 in Frisco, Texas.

Rosholt tipped the scales at 186 pounds, while Horwich (Pictured, file photo) registered 185.75. The pair first met in November 2010, with Horwich walking away the victor via third-round TKO.

Shark Fights 17 will emanate from Frisco’s Dr. Pepper Arena and will air live on cable channel HDNet. In the evening’s co-main event, former UFC heavyweight champion Ricco Rodriguez (227.75) will square off against Karl Knothe (253.75).

Both heavyweights ride considerable streaks into the contest, as Rodriguez has won 11 consecutive bouts, while Knothe has won 12 in a row.

The main draw will also feature a light heavyweight tilt between Emanuel Newton (204.25) and Ilir Latifi (206), and a catchweight contest where Daniel Almeida (209) meets Doug Williams (n/a). A bantamweight scrap between Douglas Frey (145.25) and Erik Perez (146.25) will also be featured on the televised main card.
