Sherdog.com's Steven Curtis reports from the Continental Airlines Arena in East Rutherford, N.J., with live play-by-play of the International Fight League playoff semifinals.

Preliminaries

LC Davis (Pictures) vs. Conor Heun (Pictures)
Round 1
The majority of round 1 had LC on top of Heun but Heun kept working to sneak his leg under LC's neck for a modified gogoplata. After a few minutes of non-action, the ref stands them up where they end the round circling each other. Sherdog.com scores the first 10-9 for Heun.

Round 2
LC presses Heun against the fence and works some foot stomps.Conor works his way out and once again the two end up on the ground with Heun working from his guard. Affter another inactive ground moment, the two are stood up and Heun drops to try for a kneebar but Davis stuffs him and once again lands in Heun's guard until they are forced back up. LC connects with a punch that opens a small cut under Conor's left eye. Sherdog.com sees it 10-9 for LC.

Round 3
LC snaps Heun's head back with another jab. Heun pulls Davis to the ground and again starts to work with his rubber guard. Heun is unable to posture up or get any offense going. THe ref stands them up and after a decent kick to the body, Conor follows up a decent kick to the body by grabbing Davis in a headlock and dropping down into a guillotine. LC is able to shift the pressure off the neck to keep from getting submitted. Sherdog.com scores the round 10-9 for Huen. All three judges score the contest 29-28 for LC Davis.

Jason Palacios (Pictures) vs. Joe Sampieri (Pictures)
Round 1
Palacios scores and early double-leg takedown and strikes from half-guard. Palacios mounts and attacks the body with digging punches before moving to mount. He looks for an arm-triangle choke but he doesn't have the position. Palacios hits the body a few more times before taking his opponent's back. Shortly after, Palacios submits Sampieri with a rear naked choke at the 3:21 mark.

Mike Dolce (Pictures) vs. Lyman Good (Pictures)
Round 1
Both fighters trade some shots with Dolce getting the better of the exchanges. Dolce lands crisp knees and kicks to the body. Sherdog.com sees it 10-9 for Dolce.

Round 2
Lyman shoots and scores an early takedown. After quickly taking his opponent's back, he pounds on Dolce for the next three minutes before sinking in a rear naked choke just as time expires. Sherdog.com sees it 10-8 for Lyman.

Round 3
Both fighters scramble for position but neither is able to secure a takedown. Dolche lands with a hard right uppercut and attempts to pull guard with a guillotine, but Lyman has none of it. After a ref standup, Lyman attacks with wild strikes. Sherdog.com scores the fight 29-27 for Lyman Good. The judges score the contest 30-27 (twice) and 29-27 for Lyman Good.

Dante Rivera (Pictures) vs. Nissim Levy
Round 1
Rivera controls the first frame with effective striking with knees and punches from the clinch. Rivera also scores the round's lone takedown en route to taking the frame 10-9 on the Sherdog.com scorecard.

Round 2
Rivera gets the better of Levy in the opening minutes of round two with some crisp standup, highlighted by a four-punch combination that finds its target and a single-leg takedown. Levy rallies late with a reversal and some hard striking from the top position. Sherdog.com scores round even at 10-10.

Round 3
Levy staggers Rivera with a left hand to get the action started in the final stage. Rivera recovers and lands a left knee followed by a kick that stuns Levy. Rivera swoops in and scores a takedown before pounding his opponent out at the 1:15 mark of round 3. Referee Dan Miragliotta halted the contest after several hard shots landed with no answer from Levy.

Quad Cities Silverbacks vs. L.A. Anacondas

Mike Ciesnolevicz (Pictures) vs. Alex Schoenauer (Pictures)
Round 1
To a chorus of boos, both fighters crawl through the opening frame. The only action of the round saw each fighter score a takedown, but neither could do anything with the position. Sherdog.com sees the awful four minutes 10-10.

Round 2
The action picks up a bit in the second. Schoenauer lands some decent strikes on his feet and takes the action to the bout with a well executed tackle. Mike Ciesnolevicz has no answer for the TUF veteran's control as the round pushes forward. 10-9 for Schoenauer on the Sherdog card.

Round 3
Mike Ciesnolevicz controls most of the round's action from the clinch, where he lands solid punches to the body and head. A left leg head kick with less than 30 seconds left cements the split decision victory for Mike Cieznolevicz with scores of 29-28 (twice) and 30-27 for Schoenauer. The Silverbacks take a 1-0 lead with the victory.

Rory Markham (Pictures) vs. Chris Clements (Pictures)
Round 1
Markham comes out and lands a hard right hand that stuns Clements. Chris recovers nicely but is caught with a left hand that sends him back to the canvas. Markham pounces with lefts and rights until referee Kevin Mulhall halts the contest at 1:17 of the first. Silverbacks go up 2-0.

Bart Palaszewski (Pictures) vs. Harris Sarmiento (Pictures)
Round 1
The first round is a dead heat with both fighters scoring on the feet with hard punches. "Bartimus" landed with efficiency early while Sarmiento poured it on early with several hard right hands that backed Palaszewski up. 10-10 on the Sherdog card.

Round 2
The second is all Palaszewski. He lands big throughout the four minute frame and punctuates the round with a right uppercut off the break that rocks Sarmiento. 10-9 for Palaszewski.

Round 3
"Bartimus" claims victory for the Silverbacks with a guillotine choke at 1:06 of the first. The Miletich fighter scores and early takedown and wraps up a guillotine choke during the ensuing scramble.

Gerald Harris (Pictures) vs. Benji Radach (Pictures)
Round 1
Radach opened up with his hands early before being slammed to the mat by Harris. Radach works a guillotine but Harris has none of it. Harris shoots again and is blasted by a right uppercut that puts him out. Referee Kevin Mulhall shows mercy at 3:03 of the opening period.

Ben Rothwell (Pictures) vs. Krzysztof Soszynski (Pictures)
Round 1
Rothwell made quick work of Soszynski, landing a right hand and several hammer fists before referee Dan Miragliotta steped in just 13 seconds into the contest. Silverbacks Advance to the finals with a score of 4-1.

The official attendance is announced as being 7,077.

Tokyo Sabres vs. N.Y. Pitbulls

Dave Phillips vs. Dan Miller (Pictures)
Round 1
Dan Miller scored an early takedown into half-guard. He moved to side-control before moving to mount, where he struck the head with a few right hands. Phillips gets back to half-guard and later full-guard, where he attempted an armbar. Miller slams out and locks up a fight ending guillotine choke at 1:30 of the first as Phillips scrambled to his feet. The NY Pitbulls go up 1-0.

Wayne Cole (Pictures) vs. Bryan Vetell (Pictures)
Round 1
Bryan Vetell controlled the tempo of the first with knees and punches to the body from the clinch. Cole's only offense of the first round was a single-leg as Vetell attempted to slip a guillotine choke. Sherdog.com sees it 10-9 for Vetell.

Round 2
Another clear-cut round for Vetell. He controlled the action from the clinch against the ropes, working knees and punches to the body before going to work on Cole's left leg with knee strikes to the inside of the thigh. 10-9 for Vetell.

Round 3
More of the same from Vetell in the final stage. The Pitbulls heavyweight went back to work on the left leg of Cole and score the round's only takedown en route to capturing scores of 30-27 (twice) and 30-26. The Pitbulls are now up 2-0.

Savant Young (Pictures) vs. Deividas Taurosevicius (Pictures)
Round 1
Savant Young dominated the first round with striking from the top position on the canvas. Deividas Taurosevicius threw a wild head kick that was caught by Young early in the bout. Young controlled for the rest of the round with strikes from both hands as he easily defended a leg lock and armbar attempt. 10-9 for Young.

Round 2
Young scores with a left and a right before being taken to the canvas. Taurosevicius took Savant to the mat and hopped on his back quickly after; where he looked for a rear naked choke to no avail until the round's final seconds. Before the horn sounded to end the frame, Taurosevicius went for an arm but Young gripped his hands to fight off the technique. 10-9 for Taurosevicius.

Round 3
Taurosevicius dominates in the third to send the Pitbulls to the IFL finals in September. Taurosevicius scored a takedown and later in the round capped off the bout with a right jab, left straight that downed Young. The judges scores the contest 30-27, 29-28 and 29-27 for Deividas Taurosevicius.

Antonio McKee (Pictures) vs. Delson Heleno (Pictures)
Round 1
Antonio McKee edges Delson Heleno in the first round, 10-9. Both fighters traded weak low kicks and punches for much of the round, before McKee took Heleno down to the canvas near the end of the period. McKee did little with the position before the horn sounded.

Round 2
An unintentional low blow from Heleno stops the bout for several moments, as Antonio McKee was given five minutes to recover. When action resumed, McKee landed a right side kick to the midsection and followed with a slick takedown. Sherdog.com scores the round 10-9 for McKee.

Round 3
The third is all Heleno. McKee kicked off the round with a double-leg, but Heleno quickly reversed and took his opponent's back. Heleno bombed away on the side of McKee's dome for the rest of the bout. Sherdog.com scores the third 10-9 for Heleno. The judges score the contest 30-27 for Heleno, and 29-28 (twice) for the victor by split decision, Antonio McKee.

Vladimir Matyushenko (Pictures) vs. Tim Boetsch (Pictures)
Round 1
Both fighters traded takedowns in the first, but on the strength of a Matyushenko left hand, he takes the round 10-9 on the Sherdog scorecard.

Round 2
Another dominating round for the UFC veteran. Matyushenko landed a left kick to the body before ripping his opponent to the floor, where he passed to side-control shortly after. "The Janitor" wailed away from the superior position for most of the round. 10-9 for Matyushenko.

Round 3
More of the same in the third. Multiple takedowns for Matyushenko and a solid left-right combo that stuns Boetsch. Sherdog sees it 10-9 for Matyushenko. The judges score the contest 30-27 (two times) and 29-28, all for Vladimir Matyushenko.
