The Ultimate Fighting Championship will return to the Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on Aug. 28, when the promotion holds its second event on Fox Sports 1..
UFC and Bankers Life Fieldhouse officials revealed the news on Saturday evening. No bouts have been officially announced for the show, but tickets for the event go on sale June 14. The UFC debuts on FS1 on Aug. 17. That inaugural event takes place at the TD Garden in Boston and will reportedly feature a welterweight showdown between Thiago Alves and Matt Brown.
The UFC first visited Indianapolis in 2010 and has not been back since. UFC 119 took place at what was then called Conseco Fieldhouse and saw Frank Mir knock out Mirko Filipovic in the evening’s heavyweight main event.
The notoriously lackluster pay-per-view event also saw Ryan Bader take a unanimous decision victory over fellow light heavyweight Antonio Rogerio Nogueira in the co-headliner. The show netted a live gate of $1.6 million and was attended by 15,811 spectators.
