Injury Forces Condit off WEC Card
Sherdog.com on Thursday has learned that WEC welterweight champion
Carlos Condit
(Pictures), who was scheduled to face
Brock Larson (Pictures) on the Versus-televised June 3
WEC bill, has been forced off the card due to a separated shoulder
that was suffered on May 22.
Condit's trainer Tom Vaughn confirmed the injury, and added that while serious enough to delay the Albuquerque native's first title defense, the setback will not require surgery. Vaughn stated that Condit will be out of action for at least four weeks, and the 170-lb. fighter was shooting to return in August.
WEC, although refusing comment, is expected to find a new opponent for Larson.
