Invicta FC 12 Weigh-in Results: Kankaanpaa, Souza Official for Strawweight Title Bout

The strawweight title clash between Katja Kankaanpaa and Livia Renata Souza will move forward as planned, as both fighters made weight for their Invicta FC 12 headlining bout.

Kankaanpaa tipped the scales at 114.6 pounds on Thursday, while Souza checked in at 113.9. Invicta FC 12 takes place at the Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Kan., on Friday night and streams on UFC Fight Pass beginning at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.

Kankaanpaa will make her first title defense after capturing the 115-pound strap with a five-round verdict over Stephanie Eggink at Invicta FC 8 last September. The 33-year-old Finland native is 10-1-1 as a professional, including triumphs over current UFC talents Juliana de Lima Carneiro and Aisling Daly.

Souza will make her promotional debut with a 7-0 professional mark. The 24-year-old Sao Paulo native has finished six of her career victories by way of submission.
