Kelly McGill vs. Maegan Goodwin

Round 1

Goodwin tries to keep McGill at bay with a push kick, lands a jab and takes a front kick to the midsection in return. A straight right on the end of a combination connects for Goodwin as the smaller McGill continues to wait outside of range, looking for an entrance. Goodwin pushes forward, swinging punches until she’s close enough to clinch McGill against the cage. McGill reverses the position with double underhooks but nothing much comes of it before they separate. McGill finally finds a solid right hand around the one-minute mark, then another a few seconds later. Goodwin lands an outside leg kick but leaves her hands down and gets rushed by McGill, who sends three or four punches down the pipe in quick succession.

Goodwin hits a takedown but can’t hold McGill there for long, as McGill sweeps to the top and then opts to stand. McGill initiates the clinch this time, pushing Goodwin against the cage with an underhook. Goodwin tries to land some knees as McGill leans over, can’t find the mark, but she connects with a short right hand on the exit. Inside the last half minute, McGill steps into the pocket and tags Goodwin with a left hook-right straight combination.

Goodwin tries to clinch on the fence and gets put on her back again, this time with McGill moving straight to side control on Goodwin’s right. Some sharp elbows slice Goodwin along the hairline as she struggles to escape with about two minutes left in the fight. McGill frames up an arm-triangle choke but gets caught in Goodwin’s half guard and can’t pass to finish. Back to side control goes McGill, where Goodwin throws up her legs and tries to force a tap by triangling McGill’s head. McGill gives a thumb up to referee Bruce Allen before escaping. Jenny Liou Shrivervs. Jamie Moyle

Round 1

Moyle comes out firing with snappy combinations and kicks at Shriver’s body. A wide left hook taps Shriver on the nose, then Moyle gets to work at kicking out her opponent’s lead leg. Shriver manages to clinch up, can’t hold Moyle there and eats a hard right straight on the break. Moyle puts a kick across Shriver’s body and then misses with a couple follow-up kicks as she tries to work her way into range. Shriver pulls the clinch again and this time manages to ding Moyle with a few high knees. Moyle responds with some hard knees to the body, pushing Shriver around the cage until Shriver is able to disengage. Moyle counters a low kick with a left hand that rocks Shriver’s face, then follows up with another pair of lefts. Shriver eats the shots well but Moyle is relentless, attacking with more body kicks, punches and a series of four or five hard knees in the Thai plum. A kick knocks Shriver to the ground, but she gets back up and tries to pull guard with an armbar. Moyle backs out, allowing Shriver to stand so both women can finish the round throwing hands.

Moyle conducted a brutal striking clinic.
Moyle opens up the round with a leg kick, steps back to avoid Shriver’s punches and then works some more bdoy knees as they strawweights tie up again. As they separate, Moyle drills Shriver with a pair of knees on the chin, then follows her to deliver a couple more up against the fence. A kick to the gut, a pair of punches and a knee seem to sting Shriver, but she quickly composes herself and comes off the cage to back up Moyle with long punches. Moyle lands a wide right hand before being tripped to the ground, where she uses a whizzer to take top position and works to extract her leg from Shriver’s half guard.

Moyle passes to side control with two minutes left in the round and begins bashing Shriver with hammer fists. She switches to elbows as Shriver reclaims half guard, then stands over Shriver to get some more leverage for her strikes. Moyle comes back down to Shriver’s closed guard, tries to land right hands but gets wrapped up. Shriver swings her legs around to try an armbar, but Moyle gets the limb free. While Moyle is still kneeling, Shriver clips her with an upkick to the face. Referee Bruce Allen pauses the action just before time runs out, and the round resumes a few seconds later without much further action.

Moyle tosses her opponent to the ground briefly, avoids an armbar attempt and allows Shriver to stand again. More knees from the Thai clinch follow for Moyle, prompting Shriver to tie up and hit a trip takedown. Moyle uses a loose triangle to sweep, then switches to an armbar. Shriver snares Moyle’s head between her legs but can’t do anything with the position. When Moyle pulls her head free, she steps over to full mount and begins unloading with heavy shots as Shriver turns over and covers up. Moyle stands after being bucked out of mount, then gets met with an upkick. Shriver scrambles to her feet, drops back to the ground to attempt a heel hook with 90 seconds on the clock but can’t find the submission. The women rush back to their feet, where Shriver gets caught in a rear waist lock and rolls through, surrendering bottom position to attempt another leg lock, and that’s where time runs out.

After they break, a right hand sends Sinn to the canvas, where Lee gives chase to attempt an inverted triangle choke. Sinn withstands the choke but Lee adds some damage with behind-the-back punches, then body shots. Elbow strikes connect for Lee as she controls the head of Sinn to keep her on the ground. Sinn gets to her knees with 55 seconds on the clock and drives forward on Lee’s legs with a high double-leg. Sinn takes another overhand elbow, a crisp leg kick and a right hook before Lee leans her against the cage with a forearm across the throat. Lee backs away, Sinn resets and hits “KGB” with a solid right hook.

Lee just eats it and keeps pressing forward, lunging at Sinn with a knee to the gut. Sinn grabs the Thai clinch and scores with a couple knees of her own before releasing. Bell blew out Hougaard Djursaa effortlessly.
Bell explodes after the opening touch of gloves, assaulting Hougaard-Djursaa with punches, nonstop hooks and uppercuts. Hougaard-Djursaa is all defense in the opening minute, backing up to the fence as Bell switches things up and mixes in some body blows. Hougaard-Djursaa falls to the ground and grabs for Bell’s left leg, while Bell sits up and continues to unload with hammer fists and elbows. Bell tries to take full mount but Hougaard-Djursaa is wrapped around her leg, so Bell just kneels over her struggling opponent and gets back to work with punches and elbows.

They come off the fence and Hougaard-Djursaa finally gets a brief respite by triangling Bell’s legs and forcing the American to work to maintain top position. Hougaard-Djursaa tries to drive forward on a double-leg but gets put on her back again, where Bell continues her assault. It’s full mount now for Bell with one minute remaining in the round, and she’s trying hard to finish the fight with left hands as referee Bruce Allen looks on. Rivera-Calanoc is finding some success with leg kicks, but it’s still Esquibel with the speed and volume.

Straight to side control on Kowalkiewicz’s left side goes Inoue, who jumps on Kowalkiewicz’s back as the Polish fighter stands up.
