Invicta FC Signs Undefeated Prospect Jessica Correa Delboni
Undefeated strawweight Jessica
Correa Delboni took another step towards her dream of competing
in the
Ultimate Fighting Championship. The PRVT athlete has signed an
exclusive deal to compete in the premier female promotion,
Invicta Fighting Championships, which airs on UFC Fight
Pass.
Delboni’s first action since joining the promotion is to immediately drop to the atom weight division. While Delboni still has no date set for her debut, she will be looking to build upon her flawless record, which includes two stoppages in her last two fights. The move to Invicta will mark the native of Espirito Santo, Brazil’s first fight out of her homeland and her first fight in 2018.
Delboni’s coach and PRVT team leader, Gilliard Parana, believes the
move proves his team his team is the No. 1 female team in the
world:
“Once again we are proving that our female team is the biggest and best in the world. PRVT girls with another international contract at the largest women's event in the world,” he said.
Delboni will be looking to make an immediate impact in the ever-expanding Invicta atomweight division and will need to get past highly-rated prospects such as Minna Grusander if she wants to claw her way towards the title.
By signing with Invicta, Delboni is following in the footsteps of her compatriots Cristiane Justino and Amanda Nunes, who both fought for the promotion before becoming dominant champions in the UFC.
