Those anxiously awaiting the showdown between Ronaldo Souza and Yoel Romero at UFC 184 will have to wait, as “Jacare” has withdrawn from the middleweight bout due to pneumonia.

Ultimate Fighting Championship officials revealed the news on Thursday. Souza-Romero will be rescheduled at a later date when the former Strikeforce champion is back at full health.

The pay-per-view event is set to take place on Feb. 24 from Staples Center in Los Angeles and is headlined by Chris Weidman defending his middleweight title against Vitor Belfort.

Both “Jacare” and Romero are riding winning streaks heading into their impending encounter. Souza defeated Gegard Mousasi via submission to win his seventh consecutive bout at UFC Fight Night “Jacare vs. Mousasi 2,” while “Soldier of God” controversially finished Tim Kennedy with punches at UFC 178 to set his current streak at five.
