Jake Shields will look to attain his second win in as many fights under the World Series of Fighting banner against Brian Foster at WSOF 17 on Jan. 17.
Following his split from Ultimate Fighting Championship, Shields rebooted in style by finishing Ryan Ford at WSOF 14 via rear-naked choke. The 35-year-old has only tasted defeat once in his last six outings, a UFC 171 loss to Hector Lombard. Most recently, Shields competed against Roberto de Souza in the secret match of Metamoris 5.
Another UFC alum, Foster will come into the tilt riding a four-fight winning streak. Since parting ways with the promotion after his UFC 123 win against Matt Brown in 2010, the Oklahoma native has competed for seven different regional promotions. Foster has not been in action since May, when he submitted Gilbert Smith at Titan Fighting Championship 28.
