Rising star Jason Knight will get the toughest test of his career to date when he meets Ricardo Lamas at UFC 214.

Promotion officials announced on Tuesday that Knight will replace Chan Sung Jung in the July 29 featherweight bout. “The Korean Zombie” withdrew from the clash against Lamas due to a knee injury. UFC 214 takes place at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif., and is headlined by a light heavyweight championship rematch between Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones.

After falling to Tatsuya Kawajiri via unanimous decision in his Octagon debut at “The Ultimate Fighter 22” finale, Knight has reeled off four consecutive wins while showcasing a fan-friendly style. In his last outing, the Mississippi native scored a third-round technical knockout victory over Chas Skelly at UFC 211 on May 13. The 24-year-old is 17-2 as a pro, with three wins via KO/TKO and 10 by submission.

Lamas, a former featherweight title challenger, last appeared at UFC Fight Night 98, where he submitted Charles Oliveira in the second round. “The Bully” is 8-3 during his promotional tenure, with victories over the likes of Diego Sanchez, Dennis Bermudez, Cub Swanson and Hatsu Hioki, to name a few.
