A featherweight showdown between Jeremy Stephens and Josh Emmett will serve as the headliner for UFC on Fox 28.
The promotion confirmed the bout to the Orlando Sentinel on Thursday. UFC on Fox 28 takes place at the Amway Center in Orlando, Fla., on Feb. 24 and also includes a light heavyweight clash between Ovince St. Preux and Ilir Latifi as well as a strawweight scrap pitting Jessica Andrade against Tecia Torres.
A veteran of 26 Octagon appearances, Stephens enters the matchup riding a two-fight winning streak. “Lil Heathen” is coming off a second-round technical knockout of Doo Ho Choi in the UFC Fight Night 124 headliner this past Sunday. Prior to that, he outpointed former Strikeforce champ Gilbert Melendez at UFC 215.
Emmett, meanwhile, has been victorious in four of his five Octagon appearances. The Team Alpha Male product established himself as a person of interest in the division with a first-round knockout of former title challenger Ricardo Lamas at UFC on Fox 26. However, Emmett did not make weight for the short notice bout.
