Jessica Aguilar will fight for the World Series of Fighting strawweight championship in her first promotional appearance.

WSOF officials announced Wednesday that “Jag” will battle Alida Gray over the inaugural 115-pound championship at WSOF 8, which takes place Jan. 18 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Calif.

The event airs live on NBC Sports Network and will feature a lightweight title showdown between unbeaten prospects Justin Gaethje and Lewis Gonzalez. The event will also showcase a delayed light heavyweight conflict, as Mike Kyle faces Anthony Johnson in the co-main event.

Regarded as one of MMA’s top 115-pound talents, Aguilar has won seven straight fights heading into her WSOF debut. The strawweight ace competed for Bellator from 2010 to 2013 and most recently fought in October, when she took a technical decision from Megumi Fujii to send the Japanese veteran into retirement.

Gray, 36, began her pro fighting career this past June and has already racked up four straight victories, earning three wins by knockout and another by submission. The Texan last competed on Nov. 23, scoring a TKO win over Katie Klimansky-Casimir in the Oklahoma-based Sugar Creek Showdown.
