A featherweight tilt pitting Chas Skelly against Jim Alers has been added to the bill for UFC Fight Night “Thompson vs. Thatch” on Feb. 14.
Ultimate Fighting Championship officials announced the bout on Thursday. The Fox Sports 1-televised event takes place at 1stBank Center in Broomfield, Colo., and is headlined by a welterweight contest between Stephen Thompson and Brandon Thatch.
Skelly, 29, has rattled off two consecutive victories since dropping his UFC debut against Mirsad Bektic at UFC on Fox 11. The Bellator MMA veteran bounced back and submitted Tom Niinimaki at UFC Fight Night “Henderson vs. dos Anjos,” then fought less than two weeks later at UFC Fight Night “Jacare vs. Mousasi 2” and earned a unanimous decision win over Sean Soriano.
Alers, 28, is looking to remain perfect under the UFC banner. “The Beast” has not tasted defeat since 2010. Alers stretched his current winning streak to nine when he edged out a split decision victory against Alan Omer at UFC Fight Night “Minotauro vs. Nelson.”
