Lightweight veteran Jim Miller has agreed to face Danny Castillo at UFC on Fox 16, replacing Castillo’s original opponent, Rustam Khabilov.
Khabilov, a native of the Russian republic of Dagestan, was forced to withdraw from the bout due to “visa issues,” according to a statement released by Ultimate Fighting Championship. UFC on Fox 16 takes place July 25 at United Center in Chicago and is headlined by a bantamweight title bout between champion T.J. Dillashaw and former titlist Renan Barao.
Miller, 31, will enter the bout on a two-fight skid, having been knocked out by Donald Cerrone and outpointed by Beneil Dariush in the past 12 months. The New Jerseyan has been part of the UFC lightweight division since 2008 and has compiled an impressive Octagon record of 13-5 with one no-contest.
Castillo, 35, will also look to get back on track after back-to-back losses against Paul Felder and Tony Ferguson. The Team Alpha Male product holds a combined UFC and World Extreme Cagefighting record of 12-8.
