Jim Miller and Joe Lauzon will square off for a second time when the Ultimate Fighting Championship heads to Vancouver on Aug. 27.
Promotion officials recently announced the lightweight pairing. Miller and Lauzon first met at UFC 155 in December 2012, with Miller taking a unanimous verdict in a bout that won “Fight of the Night” honors. UFC on Fox 21 takes place at Rogers Arena and features the featherweight debut of Anthony Pettis, who takes on Charles Oliveira in a main card matchup. A headliner has not been announced for the the Fox-televised event.
Miller recently halted a two-fight skid at UFC 200, when he stopped former Pride Fighting Championships standout Takanori Gomi via technical knockout 2:18 into the opening frame. The New Jersey native owns a 15-7 career mark within the Las Vegas-based promotion.
Lauzon also had a successful outing at UFC 200, as he become the first man to officially stop Diego Sanchez with strikes (Sanchez’s other TKO loss was a doctor stoppage) 1:26 into the opening stanza of their 155-pound encounter. The Bridgewater, Mass., native has won four of his last six in the Octagon, with triumphs against the likes of Gomi, Michael Chiesa and Mac Danzig during that stretch.
