Joanne Calderwood will lock horns with Jessica Andrade at UFC 203 in Cleveland on Sept. 10, promotion officials announced on Wednesday.
While Calderwood recently last took a third-round victory over Valerie Letourneau at 125 pounds, the matchup with Andrade is listed as a strawweight affair on UFC.com. The Las Vegas-based promotion has not officially implemented a flyweight division for women.
UFC 203 takes place at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland and is headlined by a heavyweight championship tilt between Stipe Miocic and Alistair Overeem. Another heavyweight clash is set for the co-main event, as ex-champ Fabricio Werdum takes on Ben Rothwell.
Including her win against Letourneau at UFC Fight Night “MacDonald vs. Thompson” on June 18, Calderwood has been victorious in three of her four Octagon outings. Maryna Moroz handed “JoJo” her lone career setback in 12 appearances at UFC Fight Night “Gonzaga vs. Cro Cop 2” in April 2015.
Andrade, meanwhile, was successful in her first fight of 2016, scoring a second-round TKO triumph over Jessica Penne at UFC 199. The 24-year-old Brazilian is 5-3 during her promotional tenure and 14-5 as a professional overall.
