Joanne Calderwood will lock horns with Kalindra Faria in a flyweight contest at UFC Fight Night 135.
Promotion officials recently announced the pairing. UFC Fight Night 135 takes place at the Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, Neb., on Aug. 25 and is headlined by a lightweight tilt pitting Justin Gaethje against James Vick.
Calderwood will be making her return after a little than a year layoff and will look to snap a two-bout skid after falling to Cynthia Calvillo and Jessica Andrade in back-to-back 115-pound appearances. The Scottish fighter’s last victory, incidentally, occurred at 125 pounds, when she stopped Valerie Letourneau in the third round at UFC Fight Night 89.
Faria, meanwhile, has not tasted victory in the Octagon after losing to Mara Romero Borella and Jessica Eye in her first two promotional outings. The 31-year-old Brazilian owns an 18-7-1 career mark that includes other notable defeats against the likes of Claudia Gadelha, Jessica Aguilar and Vanessa Porto.
