A women’s flyweight showdown between Joanne Calderwood and Bec Rawlings has been booked for UFC Fight Night 121.
The Las Vegas-based promotion confirmed the pairing following a report from the Brisbane Times. UFC Fight Night 121 takes place at Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney on Nov. 18 and is headlined by a heavyweight clash pitting Mark Hunt against Marcin Tybura. The UFC announced the addition of the female 125-pound weight class in May.
Calderwood enters the matchup on a two-fight losing streak. After falling to Jessica Andrade via first-round submission at UFC 203, the Glasgow native dropped a unanimous verdict to Cynthia Calvillo in her most recent outing at UFC Fight Night 113 on July 16. Calderwood is 3-3 during her Octagon tenure and 11-3 as a professional overall.
Rawlings is also on a two-fight skid after falling to Tecia Torres and Paige VanZant in her last two Octagon appearances. The 28-year-old Brisbane, Australia native is 2-3 in the UFC, with victories over Seo Hee Ham and Lisa Ellis to her credit.
