Onetime “Ultimate Fighter” cast member Joe Proctor and once-beaten Russian prospect Magomed Mustafaev will meet at UFC 194, according to a Monday report from the Boston Herald.
The 155-pound matchup will be part of the event’s preliminary card, per the report. UFC 194 is set to take place Dec. 12 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, headlined by a highly anticipated featherweight title bout between longtime champion Jose Aldo and interim titlist Conor McGregor.
A student of fellow UFC lightweight Joe Lauzon, Proctor has compiled an Octagon record of 4-2 since joining the organization in 2012 on the heels of his “TUF 15” appearance. The Massachusetts native last saw action on June 6, when he used a guillotine choke to put Justin Edwards to sleep with only two seconds left on the clock.
Mustafaev, 27, will enter the bout on an 11-fight winning streak which includes seven knockouts and four submissions. The combat sambo specialist made a successful UFC debut on June 20 by slicing open Piotr Hallmann to force a second-round doctor stoppage.
