Just days after Matt Riddle agreed to fight Besam Yousef in the place of the injured Stephen Thompson at UFC 154, Yousef has also withdrawn from the show.
Maguire made his UFC debut last November, outpointing Justin Edwards at UFC 138 in Birmingham, England. The Brit then submitted DaMarques Johnson with an armbar this past April before suffering a lackluster unanimous decision defeat to countryman John Hathaway on Sept. 29 at UFC on Fuel TV 5. The setback halted a seven-fight winning streak for the 29-year-old, who owns 10 of his 18 career wins by submission.
Riddle, 26, recently saw a UFC 149 submission victory over Chris Clements changed to a no-contest after testing positive for marijuana. Riddle, who is a medical marijuana patient in Nevada, began 2012 with a split decision victory over Henry Martinez at UFC 143, a win that snapped a two-fight skid for “Deep Waters.” An alumnus of “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 7, Riddle has fought the entirety of his professional career in the UFC, posting a 6-3 promotional record with one no-contest since debuting in the Octagon more than four years ago.
