Jon Anik Gets ‘209’ Tattoo After Nate Diaz Victory at UFC 196

Jon Anik is a man of his word.

The UFC commentator vowed to get a 209 tattoo if Nate Diaz upset Conor McGregor at UFC 196, and it appears that he has followed through on his promise.

The number 209 is the area code for Stockton, Calif., which is Diaz’s hometown. Diaz submitted McGregor with a rear-naked choke 4:12 into the second round of their March 5 welterweight encounter at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Diaz was apparently aware of the bet, and the fighter called out Anik after his victory.

“Jon Anik better get a f---ing 209 tattoo or I’m going to whoop his little ass,” Diaz said at the UFC 196 post-fight press conference.

It looks as though Anik will be avoiding the Stockton slap for now, as he posted a picture of his new ink on his Instagram account Thursday.
