As is the new tradition in modern mixed martial arts, if you want someone’s attention then there’s no better way than to post your intentions on Twitter.

On Sunday night, UFC veteran Jorge Masvidal tweeted that he’s only interested in ranked opponents, apparently in response to the streaking but as-yet unranked Vicente Luque calling him out earlier this month.

The tweet drew the notice of ranked British welterweight Leon Edwards who accused Masvidal of avoiding him in the past. Edwards previously called out Masvidal after defeating Donald Cerrone at UFC Fight Night 132 in June. “Gamebred” did express his acceptance of the challenge, but the fight did not end up being made.

Masvidal is currently riding a two-fight losing streak and last fought back in November at UFC 217 against Stephen Thompson losing via a unanimous decision.

The surging Edwards has won six straight, most recently a dominant five-round decision against Cerrone in June in Singapore.
