Jorge Masvidal will replace Claudio Henrique da Silva and face Siyar Bahadurzada at UFC 201.
The Las Vegas-based promotion revealed the new matchup on Thursday. UFC 201 takes place at Philips Arena in Atlanta on July 30 and is headlined by a welterweight title clash between Robbie Lawler and Tyron Woodley.
Masvidal has lost three of his last four fights, including a split-decision setback against Lorenz Larkin in his most recent outing at UFC Fight Night “Almeida vs. Garbrandt” on May 29. The Strikeforce veteran is 6-4 during his promotional tenure overall.
After more than a two-year layoff, Bahadurzada returned to the Octagon at UFC 196, where he submitted Brandon Thatch with an arm-triangle choke 4:11 into round three. The 32-year-old Afghan fighter is 2-2 in the promotion, with his other victory coming against Paulo Thiago in his April 2012 debut.
