Scott Jorgensen and
Antonio Banuelos will meet in a bantamweight rematch at WEC 48 on April 24 at the Arco Arena in Sacramento, Calif., the promotion announced on its Twitter account Thursday.
Jorgensen will replace an injured
Damacio Page and lead off the promotion’s first pay-per-view event, said the post.
Banuelos earned a close split decision over the 27-year-old Jorgensen at WEC 41 “Brown vs. Faber 2” last June, also held in Sacramento, Calif. The 30-year-old Banuelos, a student of John Hackleman and
Chuck Liddell, notched a unanimous decision against
Kenji Osawa at WEC 44 in November.
Jorgensen, a former Boise State University wrestler, submitted Chad George in 31 seconds at WEC 47 on March 6, elevating George off his feet with a standing guillotine choke.
