Jose Torres-Pedro Nobre Flyweight Title Bout to Headline Jan. 21 Titan FC 43 Card

Titan Fighting Championship's first card of 2017 will be headlined by flyweight title action.

Monday, the promotion announced that Titan FC 43 would be headlined by a 125-pound title bout between champion Jose Torres and challenger Pedro Nobre. Titan FC 43 takes place on Jan. 21 from the Watsco Center in Coral Gables, Fla., and streams live on UFC Fight Pass (current odds).

Torres and Nobre were originally set to square off at Titan FC 42 on Dec. 2, also at the Watsco Center, but the bout was postponed after Nobre was injured in training.

Torres, 24, has fought his entire three-fight pro career under the Titan FC banner. In his last outing at Titan FC 40 in August, the undefeated Chicago fighter knocked out Abdiel Velasquez with punches and a knee in the second round to take the company's flyweight championship.

The 30-year-old Nobre was unsuccessful in his first Titan FC flyweight title bid, dropping a five-round unanimous decision verdict to eventual “Ultimate Fighter 24” winner Tim Elliott at Titan FC 37 in March. The Brazilian rebounded seven weeks later at Titan FC 38, earning a split decision over Sid Bice.
