The Las Vegas-based promotion confirmed the flyweight pairing to Newsday. UFC Fight Night 143 takes place at the Barclays Center on Jan. 19 and is headlined by a flyweight championship clash between Henry Cejudo and T.J. Dillashaw. The event marks the UFC’s debut on the ESPN+ streaming service.

Benavidez and Ortiz first locked horns at UFC Fight Night 57 on Nov. 22, with Benavidez winning a unanimous decision. Since then, the 34-year-old Benavidez has won five of six contests, including a first-round TKO of Alex Perez in his most recent outing at “The Ultimate Fighter 28” finale on Nov. 30. Benavidez had been scheduled to face Deiveson Figueirado at UFC 233 before the Jan. 26 event in Anaheim was scrapped.

Ortiz, meanwhile, is currently on a three-fight winning streak in the Octagon that includes knockouts of Matheus Nicolau Pereira and Hector Sandoval. The 29-year-old is 8-5 during his promotional tenure and 19-7 as a professional overall.
