Pride Fighting Championships veteran Tatsuya Kawajiri will make his first Ultimate Fighting Championship appearance since April 2014 when he takes on Dennis Siver at UFC Fight Night “Gustafsson vs. Teixeira.”
The featherweight bout was officially announced by the UFC on Friday, and was first reported by Asia MMA.
Kawajiri (33-8), one of the most respected Japanese fighters of his era, is 1-1 in the UFC, with a win against Sean Soriano and a loss at the hands of Clay Guida. The 36-year-old holds notable conquests of Josh Thomson, Vitor Ribeiro and Yves Edwards in a career that spans more than 15 years.
Siver (22-10), also 36, will look to rebound from a pummeling received by Conor McGregor in January.
