On Tuesday, McGregor tweeted that the way to gain access to the highly-anticipated event was to purchase a bottle of his new Proper No. Twelve whiskey. The UFC had previously announced that the Khabib vs. Conor press conference was only open to credentialed media.
The Las Vegas-based promotion recently reiterated that statement following McGregor’s proclamation.
“The press conference is closed to public,” a UFC official told MMAjunkie.com. “It’s a media only event.”
The presser will take place at Radio City Music Hall in New York at 5 p.m. ET/2 p.m. PT on Thursday. McGregor, Khabib Nurmagomedov and UFC President Dana White are expected to be in attendance. Fans in the New York area can watch the event on the “Mega-Zilla” screen in Times Square. It will also be broadcast on ESPN and streamed on UFC.com and YouTube.
